We want our sons to grow up into Men of Honor – highly esteemed and respected, of good reputation. Men of integrity.
May the LORD bestow favor and honor upon my son. No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11).
May my son know that both riches and honor come from God, and that He rules over all (1 Chronicles 29:12).
We want them to honor others – their parents (that’s us!),  their siblings, leaders, teachers, and especially the young women they meet.  And we pray that they live a life that honors God above all else.  A wonderful passage to teach our sons how to honour the different people in his life is 1 Timothy 5:1-2:  “Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exhort him as if he were your father. Treat younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters, with absolute purity.”

May my son honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor (the authorities over him) (1 Peter 2:17).

May my son honor his father and mother, for this is the first commandment with a promise. (Ephesians 6:2).

May my son honor the face of an old man (Leviticus 19:32).

Let’s pray together for our sons to be Men of Honour. Brooke recommends a book, The Princess and the Three Knights by Karen Kinsbury, a great tale of honour for both girls and boys.
