Often times in Christian circles, when we think of purity, we think of being sexually pure. But the kind of purity that God calls us to is to encapsulate our whole lives. In our thought life, in our attitudes, in our actions, in the way we dress, in the way we interact others.

Romans 12:1&2: Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God–this is your spiritual act of worship.
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Walking in purity as a Christian is about laying down my rights to have what I want each day – to be a living sacrifice. It’s about dying to myself. It’s about changing my mind, changing the way I would naturally choose to live. Purity is choosing to live the way God commands and choosing to see my life and the lives of others from His perspective.

Below are the prayers for our sons today. You can clearly see that Purity must be evident in every area of our lives. We are praying that God will capture the hearts, minds, and spirits of our sons. That they may walk in Purity before Him.

May my son have love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith (1
Timothy 1:5).

May my son hope in God and thus purify himself (1 John 3:3).

May my son have religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unstained from the world (James 1:27).

May my son think on whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of
praise, may he think about these things (Philippians 4:8).

May son be like the pure in heart, for they shall see God (Matthew 5:8).

May there be no violence in my son’s hands, and his prayer be pure (Job 16:17).

May my son be pure, because even a child makes himself known by his acts, by whether his conduct is pure and upright (Proverbs 20:11).

May my son’s love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that he may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ (Philippians 1:9-10).

How can my son keep his way pure? By guarding it according to God’s Word (Psalm 119:9).

May my son be blameless and innocent, a child of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation (Philippians 2:15).
