This morning my neighbour, Diane, dropped by to say ‘Welcome Home’, and to tell me that yesterday (Monday) morning Mr Electric Company came to cut off our electricity. But our neighbour, Mark, saw him and kindly asked him to give us one more day to pay it. So Mr Electric Company said, “Fine, but make sure it’s paid tomorrow.” I’m so thankful for neighbours that look out for us!! And for a flexible Mr Electric Company. Otherwise I would have come home to a house without power and no way to get to the electric office to pay it until this morning.
So, this morning the kids and I went for a walk in search of breakfast. On the way we had to visit various dogs and cats, to let them know we are now back in the neighbourhood. This slowed us down considerably. By the time we got home, Hannah Kumdee had arrived to spend the morning with us. Within minutes my rental car had also arrived, so we piled the kids into the car and went to pay the electric bill. I was expecting long lines – but I walked in, pushed the button, and before the little piece of paper with my number even got out of the machine, my number was called. Woo Hoo! The process of getting the kids out of the car and then back in again took longer than paying the bill!! Amazing! I have never had an experience like this at the Electric Company!
Then we went to Central Kad Suan Kaew, to get groceries at Tops. I was going to labouriously take them to the car when I remembered: HOME DELIVERY!! It’s a beautiful thing, isn’t it! So when Mirjam (Hannah’s Mum) and Hannah’s two brothers, David and Jonathan, met us there for lunch I was able to leisurely eat my noodles with them and then go play. Well, the kids went to the play ground while Mirjam and I hang out at Black Canyon and caught up on the news and excitement in our lives. Then we all went for ice cream. And to top off the day, I met my friend Sue in the pharmacy – but we couldn’t chat for long as the kids were overtired and Timothy actually started throwing shampoo, body lotion and deodorant bottle on the floor in protest of being awake!! Yes, that was ME with MY kids!
Exit Stage Left, Very quickly!
The kids are now sleeping. This is the goal of taking them to the play ground at Central KSK. So, I’d say the day was a success.
