Last week we were supposed to go on a beach vacation with The Kumdees. But on the night we were to leave, at the very minute that we were to get in the van and start the 15 hour drive, I was puking my guts out. Nice visual, huh?

Needless to say, we unpacked our belongings from the van, said ‘bye bye’ to our friends and our vacation, and went back to bed. The next morning I woke up feeling kind of okay, and wished that we didn’t lend our legendary ute (pick up truck) to a team that was in town. Our bags were still packed, and I was ready for a vacation. All dressed up with no place to go. Poor me!

So we decided to take a road trip to Doi Intanon. That’s the highest peak in Thailand, and only about 1 hour drive away. It was nice to be in the woods, surrounded by only the sound of nature and the motorbikes passing our cabin every couple of minutes. If it hadn’t been raining, we probably would have camped out. Also, we used our illness as an excuse to be wooses (Sean got sick the first night). We spent our time either playing on the porch of the cabin, sleeping or checking out the local water falls. Samantha loved getting around the jungle in her backpack on Daddy’s back.

It wasn’t the beach, and it was only 2 nights. But it was good to disappear for a couple of days.
