On Saturday, my Darling Husband took me out for the day for our anniversary. We had a great time. When I got hungry, he took me to this place called “Billy Baxters”, just your average restaurant, with a slight cutesy theme. I didn’t know what I wanted, so I ordered chicken, salad, fries and a big chocolate milkshake with extra icecream (hey, I told them to use skim milk!). I was in heaven. I was able to fullfill every craving I was having at that moment. Blissful. But, I forgot that I had promised Darling some of my milkshake, and drank it all myself. I blame the baby. After all, our Little Jellybean is the one who is giving me a strange appetite!!
Then, for dinner we decided to go to a Thai restaurant that our friends and family have told us about. It’s kind of expensive and so we decided we should wait for a special occasion. This is where the terrible development comes in. We ordered our food, and then, as we began to eat, I discovered that (begin the sinister, horror flick music and sound effects) I can’t eat Thai food. Our Little Jellybean doesn’t like it!!! I soldiered on, cause I knew I needed to eat, but every mouthfull was soooooo hard to eat. My strange appetite meant that we had heaps of leftovers, and even smelling the sweet aroma of thai herbs & spices in our fridge turned my stomach. Sean had leftovers for dinner on Sunday, and I couldn’t sit next to him. I had mashed potatoes for dinner and water, on the other side of the room!!! Bleh.
Back to Saturday Night: The Thai restaurant is right on the beach, so after we finished eating, we decided to go for a walk along the jetty that stretches out into the water until it reaches the reef. It was pretty dark even with the lights, but the water was beautiful, really clear. I think it goes out about 500 meters into the water, and the jetty is quite high. I was clinging to Sean really tightly, and I think he liked that… In the day time, I think I could back and forth on that thing without batting an eyelid, but somehow the dark, height, wind, and waves made it seem very ominous.
note: I had to change the title, cause at least one of my readers got “freaked out” (see comments). 😉
Anne, DONT Scare us like that!!! Gosh, only not having your food agree with you…I am sorry your Thai was not as you wish, but to title your blog “Terrible Developement” just after your great news…you freeked me out….so no more scares…okay?!
So I spent my first weekend in Chicago. It was great. Happy aniversary again and glad you had a nice walk by the water…
To bad about Steve hu?…The crocidile hunter will be greatly missed, he was a great dad and guy and all.
