Well, today I had my laparoscopy to treat PCOS (Poly-cystic Ovary Syndrome) and to diagnose whether I have Endometriosis. Well, I don’t have endo, and we’ll know soon if the treatment for PCOS was successful.
I really liked the staff at the clinic, and the doctor is great. I woke up in pretty bad pain, but thankfully the pain killers started to work in about 20 mins. It was a weird feeling to have surgery and return home within 3 hours of being wheeled into recovery. My past 2 surgeries (not IF related) I stayed in the hospital for a couple of days.
I slept most of the day, and things were going really well, until dinner time when I overate. Silly me – I was in excruciating pain for 2 hours, because the gas they pumped into my abdomen for the surgery was pushing against my stomach and my diaphram. Ouch. Live and learn.
So, I’ll be laid up for 3 or 4 days, but hopefully as a result of this surgery, I will begin to ovulate spontaneously, and we might be able to get pregnant without further procedures (it’s a slim chance, but the hope is still there).
ooh, Anne. Hope you get to feeling better soon. Glad the surgery went well though!
Oh Anne, I’m so sorry! I’m praying that everything will work out, and that the surgery was worthwhile. I’m really sorry you are in pain though. 🙁 Sean better be treating you like a queen. 😀 Love you!
