Tonight we went on a Family Date. Sean decided to treat the family to a nice dinner, as a reward for all the hard work we’ve done. Also, it’s been a while since we went somewhere nice.

On the way to Dinner, Samantha asked if we could get ice cream. The standard answer is, “If you eat enough real food.” Usually she doesn’t. She doesn’t like to eat. I find myself mortified almost every night when my Rugrats reject the food that I so faithfully and tirelessly prepare for them. But that’s another story.

My goodness my girl can eat when she wants to. When she is on a mission for dessert.

Soup. Salad Bar. Bread. Fish. Chips. I’ve never seen that girl eat with such enthusiasm. Timothy also eat like a horse.

Who took my children and replaced them with these Eaters?

And well behaved! Samantha was a little lady. Timothy didn’t have any choice, as he was ‘stuck’ to his chair. I love it when restaurants have kids chairs that you can tie your kids to. It’s a rare sight in Thailand, indeed.

So, we all ate our awesome dinner and then stuffed ourselves silly with dessert.

Chocolate Mousse and Jelly (or Jell-O, for the Americans).

As we stuffed our faces, Samantha proclaimed, “Oh Daddy, Chocolate Mousse is sssoooooo much better than Tooth Mousse!!” If you know what that is, then this is funny. If not, Google it.

Then, it was time to hit the Mall Play Port. Ball Pits. Slides. Bouncy Castles. 1000 square feet of Childhood Bliss. All for only US$1.

We had so much fun. The kids were in an awesome mood. I expected the Sugar Rush to take over and turn them into Little Monsters, but thankfully my Little Angels stuck around to play.

I wish everyday were like today. Happy go lucky and carefree. Perfect Children in a Perfect Mood. With parents who love and appreciate them and each other – simply for who they are.

So, I’m not gonna talk about The Boy’s bathtime/booktime/bedtime meltdown.

That would ruin the mood.
