He always compliments the food I make. Literally goes on about it.
Sean: “This is beautiful, Darl. What ya call these things again?”
Me: “Rissoles, Darl. Everybody cooks rissoles.” (Blushes)
Sean: “Yeah, but it’s what you do with them… why would you want to go out to a fancy restaurant when this gets served up each night. You could open a shop.”
Okay, that’s dialogue from my favourite Aussie movie, The Castle. And sometimes when I’m super critical of my cooking, he does actually use these lines. It’s just a funny, silly thing we do.
He taught me everything I know about making great food. That was another module of my ‘Housewife Add-On‘ that was missing when we first got married. Fifteen years on, the upgrades now download automatically, and I’m a good cook.
