It’s been 7 days since we moved into the Hotel. Since then, both Master Two and Miss Four have gotten sick. Darling Husband’s body has been trying to get sick, but somehow his mind keeps overcoming the Attack of The Germs. I’m in Survival Mode. Just get through the day. Keep the kids entertained until the next nap.

The other day we stopped by the Empty House that was once our Home to do some final cleaning. I walked in and just wanted to escape again. But I did my duty, then went out for lunch. As we walked home, Miss Four’s school called to tell us that she had a fever and an earache. She was absolutely distraught. Apparently, the teacher had walked her home (on the same street as the school), and I wasn’t there because I was having lunch with Mother in Law. Miss Four actually thought that I had taken her to school and then left her. Completely. Abandoned Forever.

I walked to the school as fast as I could, and then took Miss Four to our Empty House. She walked around asking, “Where’s my bed? Where are my toys? Why are we leaving? Can you ask Daddy to bring our stuff back, and can we just live here forever?”

My Heart Broke. I sat with my sobbing daughter and cried with her. “I wish we could stay here forever, too.”

Then I took her to see the doctor. I wasn’t taking any chances with ear problems, considering we’ll be flying across the Pacific Ocean in just 5 days. She slept for 4 hours once we got back to the Hotel.

The next day, Darling Husband met with the Landlord. We’ve had a great relationship with this guy for 7 years. He told us that when we move back to Chiang Mai, we can come live here again. I like that idea. It would be nice to move back into our Family Home at some point.

Then again, sometimes Life propels us forward and we must leave the things we love behind for our Growth and our Benefit.

Keep looking Forward. In less than a week, we’ll be in our other Home on a different continent. Embarking on New Adventures.
