Flashback: Wed April 19, 2006 The night we left California, our good friends the Ellithorpes, who have been hosting us for the last month, took us out for a farewell dinner. We went to a cool Mexican restaurant called “Left at Albequerque” at The Pruneyard. We ordered drinks – and of course the kids ordered sodas and the adults ordered water and iced tea. When the drinks arrived I noticed that the kids had a restaurant logo on their glasses, but the adults did not. The amusing part is that the kids glasses also had “Samuel Adams” emblazened on them. Hmm, I guess they have decided either, a) Kids need to learn the names of Domestic US Beers as early as possible, so they don’t drink those pesky foriegn ones; b) people who drink soda are more likely to drink beer next time; or c) adults have already made their beer brand choices, and a name on a glass isn’t going to sway us. Whatever the case, we weren’t so happy about the 13 & 10 year old getting the not so subliminal advertising…
