I have been looking for a place for Sean and I to call home for the next leg of our adventure, and was getting pretty frustrated by the lack of progress.
Me: ‘I’m interested in the property at this address’.
Estate Agent: ‘Sorry, it’s already taken’.
I don’t know how many times I got that response. And most of the places would not be available till the middle of June. Oh, how I wanted to be able to pick Sean up from the Airport and bring him ‘home’ to our own little love nest! But it just didn’t seem like it was possible.
Today I had two viewings planned, and was so happy when the first viewing produced results!!!! So, I signed the papers, and moved out of my nephews bedroom and into our new studio in a matter of hours. Oh joy! Oh sweet adulation!! A place of our own!! We even have a view of the Southern Ocean (it’s a 5 minute walk to the beach), and a little back yard that we’ll share with another family. It’s fully furnished, so we don’t have to waste money on that, and it even has some plates and silverware, a fridge, a microwave and a coffee pot. Yay!!
I’m so thankful for my sister’s hospitality, but I felt really bad kicking nephew #1, Jordan, out of his room. And I really am a fuddy duddy and like my own private space and time. Luke, nephew #2, commented the other day, ‘Aunty Anne, you sure do sleep alot! I’d say about 95% of the day’. To which I responded, ‘I’m not sleeping. I’m just hibernating, trying to get some time to myself.’ It will be strange going from living in other peoples houses with people all around, to being by myself for a week until Sean arrives. I’ll probably be coming over to my sisters all the time for company…
I’m glad you finally found a place and yes, I bet after all this time it will seem strange but soon you have a place to welcome your man home to.
welcome home, Anne!
