This morning Sean left for the village, Tung Daeng Prow, at 8:30am. He was taking Tongkham and Tik to survey the churches new location for landscaping. At 9:30am he called. When I saw his name on my cell phone, I knew something had gone wrong. Why else would he call?
“Sweetheart, I have an interesting tale to tell,” Sean said.
“Uh-oh, what happened?”
“Don’t worry – it’s good.”
Whew!!
Just as Sean was pulling out of the church parking lot, he got a call from Chang Puak Police Station, telling him he’d lost his wallet. He checked. They were correct. Apparently, after buying a drink at the store near the church, his wallet had fallen out of his bag and onto the road. A woman picked it up and took it to the police station around the corner.
When Sean arrived to pick it up, the police told him how lucky he was. 1 in 100 would return the wallet. Even less than that would return it with everything, including the cash, in it.
We are now trying to think of a nice gift to say thanks to this special lady.
Praise God for honest souls!
