Today we visited Chiang Mai Zoo. We decided to go watch a couple of animal shows (which we never do) while we were there. After the show, we introduced Samantha to some of the animals.
She met this beautiful Python, and gently stroked his scales. She really liked him.
Then she met this King Cobra. Well, actually, Sean was interviewing the handler (on video) as he carefully handled the Cobra (he had a firm hold of the head, similar to this photo). Then another handler took Samantha round to the tail, and she played with his tail while the handler talked about the snake – it’s gonna shed it’s skin in a few days. This snake is 10 years old, and was hand raised. It’s never bitten anyone and they are very careful at the zoo when letting patrons handle the snakes.
We spent most of the day taking video, so hopefully we’ll have a fun video soon of all the animals Samantha met. Emus, Cockatoos, Macaws, Binturongs, Lions, and Hippos. Oh, and towards the end of the day, we met a pony. Then it turned around and bit me!!! Here I am, petting exotic animals, and I get bitten by a horse…
