We got our new (second hand) Toyota Hilux 4 Door 4WD about a month after Samantha was born. For a really long time I wasn’t happy with the idea of replacing our death trap automatic truck with a manual gear 4WD. Oh, I loved the notion of a new, safe vehicle, but it was the MANUAL (stick shift) part I had the problem with. I had learned to drive in an auto, and didn’t really want to learn to drive a ‘stick’.
17 months later, here I am. And all I have to say is – Trucks are for Girls!! I love our big, powerful, manual 4WD. I actually have control of this vehicle. It obeys me. And I don’t mind driving these days.
“Woh-oh! You and me, in a sport utility vehicle, driving to Dunkin’ Donuts for a cup of steaming joe!”
(my Truck isn’t an SUV, but I like the song)
This post put a big grin on my face! I love my truck too! It’s a blessing to have, especially this time of year when I hear the rain pounding outside, and I’m wondering if I’ll be able to get out the road or not with the car, I normally can with the truck!
