My daughter is amazing… yesterday while she was playing in one of the back rooms of the church, she was stung by a wasp. She didn’t cry. She just walked up to her Aunty Calah, held out her hand and said, “Owie! Hand owie.” By the time Calah brought her to me, her hand was quite swollen and red, and I thought she’d cut herself. It must have really hurt, cause for the next hour she told me the story of the wasp ‘biting’ her and how much it hurt. She also couldn’t get to sleep for her afternoon nap.

I think that Samantha actually tried to pick the wasp up. She’s intrigued with bugs of all kinds (eg. she likes to play with fire ants in Thailand) so I guess she just thought the winged bug crawling on the floor was just another creature to inspect and dissect. I also think that given the chance, she’d do it all over again!
