Today is Wednesday – just in case you hadn’t figured it out yet! On Friday our little bundle will be born. I’m very excited to meet our Baby Boy. What will he look like? What kind of personality will he have? Will he take after his sister and keep us up day and night for a year (please, NO!)?? Or will he be easy going, loving and cherishing sleep as much as his Mummy (please, please, please, YES!)??
It’s nice to be surrounded by family right now, and to celebrate this Miracle Baby with them. I just wish that my family was also close by… it’s hard living on 3 continents, and trying to juggle family and friends.
Monday night, the ladies in the church threw me a baby shower. It was actually women from 2 churches that we have contact with cause of our mission work. I only knew a few of them personally, but it was a really special time. These women all prayed for us over the last 3 years, that we would have kids.
We came to USA in 2006, and shared with the churches that we were on furlough, partly with the purpose of getting treatment. Most of them got behind us, and even the Middle School and Youth groups prayed for us to be able to have children – and continue to pray for us regularly. So, last night was a wonderful time of reconnection with these women (and their young daughters) who stood with us in believing for our miracle children.
Something very special and touching to me, was that instead of games, we had a prayer time, where they prayed blessings over our Baby Boy, and even Samantha. They talked about Hannah and other infertile women in the Bible. It was just so special to have these women be so understanding and so compassionate towards me! And to have them acknowledge what God has done for us. A perfect way to finish up the last week of pregnancy.
