On Sunday we decided to attend a church around the corner where we know alot of people, but have never actually attended before. Samantha and Timothy had pretty much got everyone’s attention the moment we walked into church, with people staring and ooh-ing and ahh-ing at them all through worship, but Samantha couldn’t stop there.

Pastor Fred was just getting wound up, talking about modern day idols, and said something like, “The devil wants to kill you!” when Samantha starts clapping and calls out “Yay!!!” Every one laughed. Samantha lapped it up. My little performer just got the encouragement she needed to continue with her little cheer routine.

Once we’d turned our attention from Samantha, we discovered Pastor Fred was now talking about families, and parental responsibility.
Pastor Fred: “You need to set strict boundaries for your kids.”
Samantha: Clapping. “Yay!”
Pastor Fred: “And you need to enforce them!”
Samantha: (practically jumping out of her seat) Clapping. “Yay!”
Pastor Fred: “You’re kids shouldn’t get any privacy until they move out of home.”
Samantha: Clapping, Yay-ing and doing a little jig.
Pastor Fred: “I want this kid in my church every week!”

I think that we were greeted by every church member at the end of the service. They all wanted to meet our Little Cheer Leader and her Handsome Side Kick. Unfortunately, the Bodyguards wouldn’t let them get any autographs.
