Outside my window… they said the weather was gonna cool down on Monday and boy did they mean it! The temperature dropped 30 degrees. Sudden drops in temperature and I don’t get along…
I’m thinking… about so many things. My husband and kids are amazing gifts from God. It’s easy to take them for granted or get frustrated about little things. But ultimately, they are the best thing about my life. And I’m blown away and humbled that God saw fit to give me these 3 wonderful gifts, that He trusts me with 3 of His favourites. So I’d better do a really good job taking care of them.
From the School Room… Samantha started at preschool on Monday (remember where in CA now, so it’s all new, again). She loves it. They love her. It’s a good fit. But this morning she woke up around 5am, calling out, “Daddy, I need help!” Sean went in (I was sleeping with Timothy) to discover she’d been throwing up. So, she’s home today, with some lovely bug she picked up at preschool. She’s a trooper, and is in good spirits considering.
I’m thankful for… my ‘own’ apartment. We’ve been living with Sean’s parents for 9 months, and it’s a great situation. But for this time, I’m glad we have our own space. It’s large enough to have room to move, but small enough that I know exactly where the kids are at any given moment. No stairs to worry about. And when I’m in the kitchen, I can still see and manage the kids.
I am reading… lots of children’s books. I found a book the other day called, “Oh the places you will go” by Dr Suess. I’d never read it before, but as we read it with Samantha at bed time, I fell in love with it. It’s full of hope and innocence. Truth about life, and optimism in the midst of difficulty. It’s a wonderful book to encourage kids to live their dreams, to pick themselves up when something bursts their bubble. To persevere even when they’re in a slump.
I am hearing… a plane flying overhead and a guy bouncing a ball.
Around the house… it’s a mess, of course. MIL left on Sunday, and I’m ‘domesticly challenged’. But I’ll use the excuse that Sam is sick and Timmy is teething. There, that’s better.
One of my favourite things… By Chocolate icecream. It’s a local brand I’ve never seen before. But oh how I wish you could get it anywhere!
A few plans for the week… a date with my hubby would be nice.
A picture thought for the day… Precious gifts
(I’m using a borrowed computer, so can’t upload photos.)
