The Day began bright and early. 6am. The Sun was still Asleep. I wish I was too.

Miss Five jumped out of bed and declared, “It’s time to go to school. Quick! Let’s go!”

Give me a chance to wake up first…

Let’s Go!!

I have never seen this Girl start the day with such enthusiasm or get dressed so quick.

As I made Breakfast, Miss Five fired a quick round of Questions.

“Why isn’t the sun up? When are we gonna leave? What’s taking so long? Are we gonna be late? What’s it gonna be like? What if I’m shy? Can I take my blanket?” etc, etc.

I couldn’t keep up.

She set another record, finishing all her oatmeal in no time at all.

We still had an hour before we had to leave.

It was hard for her to sit still during morning Devotions and Prayer.

“Mummy, we’re gonna be late! We have to Go!” Miss Five exclaimed.

She remembers that We Are Sanborns, We Will be Delayed – and you can’t be late for your First Day of Kindergarten.

Finally, at 7:35am we walked out the door, arriving at school 15 minutes early.

They didn’t open the doors till 8am.

Miss Five was mortified! Oh the Agony! When Life is measured in Milliseconds, 15 Minutes is an Eternity!

So, we explored the gardens and caught baby frogs. Wildlife is a Wondrous Thing when you need to distract the Kiddos.

Finally, the doors were opened and Miss Five went charging in. “Where’s my Classroom? I want to start School!”

She quickly made some friends. And Mummy and Daddy managed to tear themselves away with a Hug and a Kiss.
