Outside my window…it’s dark and hot. Everything is still. Even the street dogs are quiet – I guess it’s too hot to mess with the tookays, cats and motorbikes. I hope it rains tonight. Seems to be a theme lately. It helps to wash away the pollution. It’s slash and burn ‘season’ right now, so the pollution is very bad. Last week we were in Malaysia, and the Bad Air Index topped out at 268 on March 17. Then it rained a couple of times and has been below 100 since. But they keep burning. It’s just what they do.
I’m thinking… my brain is full of so many things. Like the sermon I heard on Sunday, and the one I heard today. And my encounter with a Prophet today. But I don’t think I am ready to talk about that… My Princesses needs – Samantha is beginning to hate preschool: they changed her class and teacher, and she’s not happy with it. Too many changes for the poor girl in a short period of time. She used to be the leader of the pack, but now she mostly just plays by herself. What can I do to boost her confidence again? The list goes on and on…
I’m thankful … that Timothy is okay. Today he fell of our bed, face planting into the floor. Normally when he wakes up from a nap he makes a little noise which I hear over the monitor and I can get there before he moves. But I think today he actually rolled off in his sleep. I heard silence then screaming. Mummy FAIL. He even had a little bit of a bloody nose.
I’m hearing… tick tock. tick tock. tick tock.
Around the house… I’m becoming a domestic goddess. Woke up at 6:30am on Monday morning, made breakfast, did the dishes, swept the floors, changed the sheets, laundry, made lunch, while caring for a grumpy, clingy infant. Then today… I watched over the same grumpy infant, plus his grumpy toddler sister, while serving the Head of the House with love and sweetness (LOL! although I don’t think he’d laugh so heartily), made a mean dinner, plus house work… and tomorrow I get to do it all again! HA!
In the Kitchen… today I made Split Pea and Ham soup. It was Sooooooooo good! I’m a great cook. I choose the best ingredients, follow a recipe to the letter, and then at the last minute Sean comes (at my request) and adds interesting stuff to make it taste good. Tonight was such a hit that Samantha even asked for seconds (very rare), and Timothy inhaled it like it was his last meal. To my credit, I will adjust the recipe next time, cause Betty Crocker’s Pea & Ham Soup just isn’t as magical as Sanborn Pea & Ham Soup.
One of my favourite things… Girls’ Night Out. Yay for GNO! Last night was awesome. Met some girlfriends at a coffee shop for some much needed R&R. Sean took the kids despite being sick and Miss Two Point Ten and Master Point 10 being sick and crabby. He took them to the Mall playground and then even did groceries. So I guess another one of my favourite things is Sean. Samantha decided to vomit at the check out and Timothy started screaming bloody murder… they opened a special check out just to rescue Sean, and all the other patrons commented what an awesome father Sean is. Father of the Year Award goes to Sean. While I remain a Bad Mum for leaving my sick kids to hang out with friends and then allowing my son to fall off the bed.
Plans for the weekend… What to do… what to do. Saturday there’s a picnic at the local lake. There’s also a seminar I’m interested in. Choices. Choices.
A photo thought… safety first.
