Outside my window…it’s calm and quiet. hard to believe the nation is in turmoil. there’s a very muddy kiddie pool in the front yard – we were playing “We’re Going On a Bear Hunt” and we needed some thick oozy mud to wade through. There’s also a BIG dollhouse in the car port, Samantha’s birthday present from our good friends Barbara and Lee. Samantha can’t wait to get her doll in there. She’s already colour co-ordinated the carpets and wall paper.
I’m thinking… about politics and this nation’s future. When and how will all this be resolved? How will it impact the nation long term? I’m also thinking about a major dietary lifestyle change, getting rid of denatured, processed foods from my life, and only eating fresh, healthy, organic, real foods, in the hopes of healing various ailments that I’ve been dealing with for years.
I’m thankful for… my sister and brother in law who came to stay with us for a week and cooked for us and played with the kids and babysat so we could go on a date and is just so easy to talk to.
I’m reading… blogs about Real Food, the evils of processed foods and how to heal your body from illness by changing your diet.
I’m hearing… millions of cicadas celebrating the dry and the heat. they’re so loud they sound like band saw… oh, wait a minute, that is a band saw. I’m also hearing my Princess singing in the bath as she cleans up after another potty training adventure.
Around the house… trying to get ready for a trip to Bangkok. We were going to go to a wedding in Sukothai, too, but don’t have the money for the hotel. And I can’t everything organized in time, what with Big Sister visiting and the fact that I have not given the trip any thought at all.
In the kitchen…banana muffins by Big Sister. YUM! She showed me how they are supposed turn out… finally. All this time I’ve been doing it wrong. She also showed me some awesome snack recipes that taste contraband but are not. I want to hire her as my cook, but she pointed out that I couldn’t afford her.
One of my favourite things… my kids sing with me all the time… they make up their own songs.
Plans for the weekend… drive to Bangkok.
A photo thought… sharing
