We’re talking about world view. Here are a few thoughts on Tolerance…

In our post modern world, we highly value tolerance. I’m okay. You’re okay. You believe what you want, and do what you feel is right and I’ll do the same.  It’s your right, right? There’s no absolute truth. Everything is relative.

“In order to tolerate everything, you have to tolerate intolerance.” Think about it. If someone has a view that you perceive to be intolerant, then in order to avoid being a hypocrite, you need to respond with tolerance. But that’s rarely how we respond. Usually we get mad. We become intolerant.

“Tolerance to everything is intolerance to the truth”. Self explanatory. I believe there is right and wrong. I believe in absolute truth.

Jesus told us to LOVE, not be tolerant. Be TRUTHFUL, not tolerate lies and sin. Speak truth in love. NOT vilify and judge those who are living their lives as they see fit, outside the Glory and Grace of God.

Real Love embraces, builds up, challenges and champions. It weeps when it sees brokenness and pain. It dances when it sees joy and happiness. It gets mad and takes action when it sees injustice. It doesn’t seek it’s own rights, but puts others first.

“Would you rather be tolerated or loved?”
