Being Rewired.

God’s Theme for our PA DTS is “Rewiring”, inspired by Lisa’s house which is currently being rewired. 100 year old rewiring was spliced with new wiring. Her electrician told her there was 100% chance of fire, confirmed when they found wiring hidden in the insulation of the main bedroom, not to mention that the old wiring was not attached to a circuit breaker. Oh my goodness!

God is Rewiring our staff and students. He is meticulously cutting holes in our walls and floors, and getting into the dark places to expose the old ways of thinking and doing and feeling – sometimes uncovering areas where old ways have been spliced into the new, and made to look like it’s new… so an inspector will think all is well and good.

Each week of teaching has been ordered by God to expose the old wires and replace them with the new, in just the right timing. God is so gentle and kind. He doesn’t just take a sledge hammer to our lives and break down the walls to expose the ‘old wiring’. He pin points the problem, and carefully cuts the holes and pulls out the wires, laying new and better quality ‘wires’ in our souls and spirits. Then we are able to channel the electricity of the Holy Spirit in our lives and not burn up or burn out.

We’ve already been able to use the things we have learned about the Kingdom of God, Freedom in Christ and God’s love and Character in our interactions with those we meet on our weekly outreaches. It’s fun to see what God is doing, and to participate with Him. I’m looking forward to this next week, where we’ll be discovering more about Destiny in Christ.
