It’s now Wednesday afternoon. When we arrived Sunday night, I thought we’d be here for a measly 48 hours… But this little infection on the tip of Timothy’s thumb is a bigger deal than it looks.

The tests showed that the infection in the thumb was staph, thankfully not the resistant kind. But it had not improved enough since yesterday for the doctor to be willing to send us home. So, we are here at least one more day. Timothy had to have his thumb cut open today to clean it out some more – and the doctor didn’t use any kind of anaesthetic, so it was very traumatic for him, me, Grandad and possibly even the nurse.

We’re praying that the infection gets kicked in the butt tonight, and Timothy will be able to come home tomorrow.  Both of us are feeling a lot like prisoners… Timothy’s bed and play area does look a lot like a prison cell.
