Life is always an adventure when you’re with YWAM. And sometimes YWAM doesn’t get any of the credit for it.

Today’s adventure is brought to you by American Airlines.

It all started at 2:30am when I was rudely awakened by my alarm clock. By 4:30am, we were checking in at Tampa Airport, with Miss Check-in Lady dutifully doing her duty, but not without protest. And sloowwwly. We made it through security with minutes to spare, and happily took our seats, ready for the adventure ahead.

But it was about to take a detour. “Good Morning from the flight deck. We hope to be out of here soon, but we’re having a problem with our radar, so we’re waiting for the technicians.”

Twenty minutes later: “Ladies and Gentlemen, we’ve just been told that they can’t find a part, so we’re rescheduled for 12:30pm and we need to de-board the plane.”

It took two hours to figure out how to get us to SFO.  So now, it’s 10:50am and we are waiting for a Continental flight to San Francisco. We’ll miss our onward flight to Hong Kong and Bangkok, and we can’t get through to the airline.

I guess it’s all part of what we all need to learn on outreach. Flexibility. Patience. Learning to laugh at yourself and your circumstances. Never to fly American Airlines again. Because frankly, I don’t really want to have another adventure like this one again!!
